We absolutely loved Dan’s cottage. It was everything we were looking for. You feel welcome the moment you pull in the driveway. My husband and I enjoyed visiting some wineries and restaurants that Dan recommended, and I enjoyed seeing the sunset out last night while chatting with Dan and Brenda. I highly recommend and we’re hoping to come back next summer with our kids and grandkids!! Thank you again to our wonderful hosts!
Dan is one of the most amazing hosts I’ve had the pleasure of communicating with, and his Lemon Drop Cottage was truly a home away from home! I felt comfortable immediately upon entry and being lake-front is a huge bonus! The location is fantastic as well being an easy drive to anything you may have interest in doing. I look forward to staying at the Lemon Drop Cottage again in the future!
Our stay was absolutely amazing and Dan was incredibly friendly and helpful. From the fire on the shore with amazing views to the cozy cottage, we had such a relaxing and beautiful time. We will be back for sure!
I stayed here for a weekend with my best friend and it was perfect! The cottage was beautiful and the lake views were amazing :) we could not be happier with our stay! The hosts were also super helpful and responsive :)
An adorable cottage beautiful appointed and decorated with exquisite nautical decor. Everything one might need was there. Location right in front of the lake. Delightful to see sunset afterglow and to hear waves lapping on shore. I re-booked for next September!
Place was small and well maintained, very cute little home as described. Fire pits near the water and next to house came with wood, little starter logs, and a lighter which was very convenient. Dan lives on the property and was available but not intrusive, just introduced himself and made sure we knew he was available if we needed anything. We got the beautiful sunset that Lake Erie is known for. Will hopefully be back!
Our stay at the Lemon Drop may be our best Airbnb experience yet. What a perfect little spot for a getaway! Dan and Brenda provided a lovely experience with extra touches: a complementary bottle of local wine, help starting a fire in one of their three fire pits, and sharing some history about the Lemon Drop and the area. They also recommended the Vincent Willams Winery a mile down the road which turned out to be perfect!
The hosts have a very high understanding of hospitality, at a level that I have not experienced at any other place. When the weather unexpectedly turned bad, they had thought of a backup plan and upgraded me to a high-end place. It even had (during Thanksgiving season) a Christmas Tree in it. So much thought and care has gone into these cottages, with meticulous attention to details, and some genius in choosing the right things - ways beyond average (it reminded me of what Horst Schulze wrote in his book "Excellence Wins"). And of course it helps that the place has an outstanding view of the lake. There is a concept behind the name which I will not reveal here, you'll have to experience that for yourselves.
We had a wonderful stay! The host did a fantastic job — we felt incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. The cabin was perfect: cozy, clean, and just what we needed. The lake views were stunning and so relaxing, especially at sunset during the summer months — absolutely breathtaking. The fire pit added such a cozy touch in the evenings. We can’t say enough good things about this space. We’d absolutely recommend it and would love to visit again. You’ll love it here!
I loved staying at the lemon drop cottage with my kiddo! It had all the cozy comfort we were looking for. We loved being able to walk right down to the shore and launch our paddle board!
